Connecting Zendesk lets your AI agents read and reply to tickets directly in your Zendesk helpdesk.

What you’ll need

  • Subdomain — the {subdomain} in https://{subdomain}.zendesk.com.
  • Email — the email address of the (admin) agent whose API access you’ll use.
  • API token — generated in the Zendesk Admin Center.
  • Sunshine Conversations App ID, Key ID and Secret (optional) — only needed if you use Zendesk’s Sunshine Conversations messaging. If you provide one, provide all three.

Create your Zendesk API token

You need to be a Zendesk administrator to manage API tokens.
1

Enable API token access

In Zendesk, open the Admin Center, then go to Apps and integrations > APIs > Zendesk API. On the Settings tab, turn Token access on.
2

Create the token

Go to Apps and integrations > APIs > API tokens and click Add API token. Add a description (for example, Minimal AI) and click Save.
3

Copy the token

Copy the token and store it somewhere safe. Zendesk only shows the full token once.

Connect in Minimal AI

Go to Dashboard > Integrations, click Add an integration > Zendesk, and fill in your subdomain, email, and API token. Leave the Sunshine fields blank unless you use Sunshine Conversations.
Never share your API token with third parties. Only paste it into Minimal AI’s Zendesk integration.
