Connecting Gorgias lets your AI agents read and reply to conversations directly in your Gorgias helpdesk.

Instructions

Watch the following video for detailed instructions on how to create your Gorgias API tokens.
To connect Gorgias, fill in the API key and subdomain through Dashboard > Integrations > Gorgias.

Choosing who replies (sender)

When you enable automation on a Gorgias channel for an AI Agent, you pick a Sender: the Gorgias user your agent’s automated messages are sent as. The selected channel still determines which mailbox the email is sent from; the sender determines who authors it. If you don’t choose one, Minimal defaults to the built-in Gorgias Bot.

Which users can be senders

Gorgias only delivers an outgoing reply when its “from” user matches a real mailbox in your Gorgias workspace. Because of that, Minimal only lets you pick a sender that is either:
  • the built-in Gorgias Bot user (always available, and used by default), or
  • a Gorgias user whose email address is also connected as an email channel (mailbox) in that same Gorgias workspace.
The sender dropdown on the agent shows the active, send-capable users from the connected workspace. If none qualify, you’ll see a message like “No Gorgias users in this workspace can author outgoing replies. Connect an email channel whose mailbox matches a Gorgias user, or use the built-in Gorgias Bot.”

Create a custom, branded sender

To have your agent reply from your own address (for example support@yourbrand.com) instead of the Gorgias Bot, set up one account that is a Gorgias user, an email mailbox, and the API account, all on the same email address:
1

Create the Gorgias user

In Gorgias, go to Settings > Users and add a user with the email address you want replies to come from (for example support@yourbrand.com).
2

Connect that email as a channel (mailbox)

In Gorgias, go to Settings > Channels > Email and connect the same address as an email channel. This is what turns the address into a valid sender mailbox that Gorgias will accept on outgoing replies.
3

Connect Minimal's Gorgias API with that account

Generate the API key while signed in as that user, and use that user’s email + API key when connecting Gorgias in Minimal. Keeping the API account, mailbox, and sender on the same email guarantees the sender is always valid.
4

Select the sender on your agent

On the AI Agent, choose this user in the Sender field. If it doesn’t appear yet, refresh the page so the sender list reloads.
If you don’t need a branded sender, leave the default Gorgias Bot. It always works and requires no mailbox setup.
To add another sender later, add the user in Gorgias under Settings > Users and make sure their email is connected as an email channel. Once they’re active in Gorgias, they’ll appear in the Sender dropdown after you refresh.
